ULU BRIDGE

An ancient historical-architectural monument with original features located in the territory of Gakh region. The bridge was built over the Kurmukchay on the way to Ilisu village. The history of the essay dates back to the XVIII century.

SUMUQ TOWER

Defense tower in Bujag neighborhood of Ilisu village of Gakh region. It was built in the XVIII century. It is an example of a defense tower built by people living in mountainous areas together with their families to protect themselves from the enemy. Tea stone, lime mortar and baked bricks were used in the construction of the tower.

KURMUK TEMPLE

It is a church built by Tsarist Russia in the 19th century on the remains of an ancient Albanian temple (existing in the I-III centuries) in the Gakh region of Azerbaijan to Christianize the region and create a religious base.

SAND BASILITY

Three-storied, domed Albanian temple of IV-V centuries located in Gum village of Gakh region. It is called the Sand Basilica in the scientific literature because it is built on the type of basilica in ancient Byzantine architecture.

FORTRESS

A strategically important point, designed for long-term circular defense, with a permanent garrison, weapons, resources and independently managed.

ICHERIBAZAR

Located in the center of Gakh. It was built in the first half of the 18th century and renovated by the Russians in the 19th century. It consists of castle walls and castle gates surrounded by towers, which used to be called the inner market.

Historical-architectural monument located in Ilisu village of Gakh region of Azerbaijan. Of the 9 mosques that once existed in the village of Ilisu, 7 have survived to the present day.

Khan's Palace

Sheki khan's palace is a former khan's palace located in Sheki, Azerbaijan. It currently operates as a museum. The palace, located in the territory of the Upper Main State Historical-Architectural Reserve, is a world-famous historical and architectural monument. The palace, built in the Persian style in the 18th century, is located in the north-eastern part of the city, in an area surrounded by castle walls.

Albanian Temple

The brilliantly renovated round-towered Albanian church in Kish village has been lovingly converted into a very wellpresented trilingual museum. It’s the best place anywhere to learn about mysterious Caucasian Albania, the Christian nation that once covered most of northern Azerbaijan. In fact the church site goes back well beyond the Christian era and glass-covered grave excavations allow visitors to peer down on the excavated bones of possibly Bronze Age skeletons.
Church building dates to about the 12th century (990-1160 A.D.).

Shaki Caravanserai

“Caravanserai” historical complex in Sheki is two magnificent caravanserai which reached present days and traditionally named “Yukhary” and “Ashaghy” caravanserai, which means “Upper” and “Lower” Caravanserai in translation from Azerbaijani into English. Construction of these caravanserai is dated back to the 18th-19th centuries AD.

Moss waterfall

It is located in Lakit-Kotuklu village of Gakh region, in the depth of dense forest. It is a very rare waterfall. The water that has flowed from the rocks for centuries has caused dense moss to grow on them. These mosses covered the rocks as if a green carpet had been laid. The trees are so dense that the area never gets sunlight and it is always cool here. The area around the waterfall is a picnic paradise. Tourists who come to the villages of Lakit and Kotuklu definitely go for a walk here.
